Why UI Colors Are Different
Picking colors for a software interface or web application is very different from graphic design or print illustration. In UI design, every color serves a distinct, functional purpose:
Buttons require active and hover states with sufficient luminance separation. Form inputs need distinct focus rings that meet WCAG 3:1 non-text contrast guidelines. Text must achieve at least 4.5:1 contrast against surface backgrounds. When colors fail these criteria, interfaces become illegible and frustrating.
UIColorBlocks exists to solve these exact problems with mathematically grounded contrast checks and structured tokens ready to copy directly into your code.
